I absolutely loved spending a whole month in this wonderful place. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and wake up to the sound of birds singing, this is the place for you. The bungalow is situated in a forest on the mountain slope, offering a beautiful view of the local lake and mountains. It has almost direct access to all the hiking trails in Gerês.
Nearby (500m) there is a church, as well as stalls selling local products. There is also a Multibanco ATM and a bus stop (line 200 to Braga for 4.90 euros) near the church. A bit further down (2 km) is Rio Caldo, with restaurants and a shop. I didn't have a car, but it was quite easy to walk there.
The owners of the bungalow were very friendly and helped me with all my questions. The bungalow was equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, clean towels, bed linen, a floor heater, and even a bottle of wine :) The Wi-Fi was sufficient for remote work and video calls. There is a fireplace near the house (don't forget to bring charcoal and fire starters) and a table. Everything was very clean and cozy.
I really enjoyed this place; it offers excellent value for money. I would gladly return to Quinta da Carvalha again.
