We are Riaan and Retha Eastes, the proud owners and custodians of Eerstebosch, a family farm that has become much more than just our home—it is a place where we have created lasting memories with family and friends while embracing the unique lifestyle of the Cape Winelands.

Retha is a development economist, whose work has taken her throughout sub-Saharan Africa, partnering with governments, development institutions, and the private sector on projects that promote sustainable economic growth. Riaan is an independent businessman and serial entrepreneur, with a passion for building businesses, creating opportunities, and bringing ideas to life across a range of industries.

The home itself is especially close to our hearts. Riaan co-designed the house alongside our architect and personally managed its construction with a trusted team of contractors and skilled craftsmen. Every space was thoughtfully planned to maximise the breathtaking views, celebrate indoor-outdoor living, and create a home that is both elegant and welcoming. The result is a home built with passion, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of its surroundings.

As we enter a new chapter of our lives, we have chosen to spend extended periods travelling and exploring the world ourselves. Rather than leaving our home unoccupied, we saw this as the perfect opportunity to share this special place with like-minded travelers who appreciate privacy, quality, beautiful surroundings, and authentic experiences.
