The location is 1h walking or 25m with the bus from the center of funchal but still has lots of supermarkets and food around: good location.
The home was good with a few flaws.
The communication with the host was frustrating. A lot of misinformation about the cleaning service, and i often had to remind twice for important answers. Communication really felt onsided.
Overall a decent experience

Perfect place! Regardless the flat looks out to the south side, the sun is not annoying, you always can close the bedroom with black-out curtains. And, of course, ocean view with cliffs makes every your day staying there happy.
The kitchen is fully equipped. Unfortunately, limited space hasn't allow to amount dish-washing machine.
Many slots to store your belongings and your road suitcases. Fast internet and beautiful balcony to drink wine in the evenings.
The appartments also has the garage space where you can park renting car or bicycle/moto.

This is the great place to live and rest. Views from the balcony are stanning. A supermarket is 5 mins by walk. Bus station is near by. The apartment has everything for life. The landlord is super friendly as a majority of portugeses. He replies quite soon to my queries.
Only one drawback is that the building located near to road so it might be quite noisy.

This is a great apartment with a view of the ocean and extremely good location, next to a shopping mall, "the Forum," which has EVERYTHING: a grocery story, a computer store, a healthfood store, a barber shop, a hair shop, artisanal ice cream not to mention well known clothing store. The Ponta Gorda swimming complex is a 10 minute walk and there's a swimming pool in the building and a public bus stop in front of the building. I mean what more could you want? Bed is comfortable and everything works beautifully.

Centrally located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and markets this is an ideal apartment in a quiet location. A spacious fully functional T1 + 1 that is clean and bright. Staff come weekly to clean and replenish bedding and linens, an unexpected surprise. Beautiful modern decorum, with a washing machine + drying rack which is super handy.
Although the apartment is in the city, it boasts a large terrace overlooking green space where we enjoyed some of our meals outside. As outdoor enthusiasts, this was important to us.
We really enjoyed this apartment. Mr. Andre Reis, is a proactive landlord, readily available to assist. Even though Mr. Reis has many properties and is a busy man, he is calm and kind - we were never made to feel like an imposition and felt well taken care of (always important when a person is in foreign lands).
Madeira is an amazing place, visually stunning, great food and the people are friendly!! I would recommend this rental to anyone who may be interested.

Tour to the Northwest of the Island. The fanal forest is worth experiencing. We enjoyed the Lido swim complexe where a person can elect to swim in the ocean as well as an ocean water filled pool with long chairs, umbrellas for shade. Restauant Trigal, close by, great wait staff & owner. We've been on the island for 8 weeks and got around using BOLT, a handy wait to get around much less expensive than renting a car. We let the islanders do the driving.

Nice place to stay with strategic localization. The gallery situated in the same building is very convenient. I highly recommend this place to stay on Madeira Island. We were also welcomed very well by Andre, which is another benefit.

Great experience staying at Andre's place.
Located right above Le Vie mall makes it very convenient.
Apartment is well equipped and nicely designed. Above all, Andre is wonderful host, with great approach and availability.

Teresa and her partner Andre are the worst hosts ever. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire life. I read other reviews and I don't understand how come is that possible.
In July I rented the apartment for 1 year starting from 11 September. I was able to come only at September 14th and I warned Andre more than a month before that. However, when I called Andre from the airport after the aircraft has landed, he said the apartment is not ready and I should spend 1 day in a hotel. Imaging hearing this when you just landed after 10h flight with wife and 9months old baby and no one told you anything beforehand + I paid for all the days from 11th to 14th..
The apartment advertisement has 'garage included'. however, Andre tried to charge me for that. I contacted Flatio support but Andre just told me face to face that he doesn't care.
Then, suddenly, it turned out that I am breaking rules. The cleaning ladies made photos of the apartment when I was gone with baby's toys over the floor, 2 dirty plates on the table and 1 folded diaper on the floor. Turned out that's against rules and they cancelled my contract. As I have a small baby, it was very uncomfortable to me to look for a new apartment so I said I'll follow their rules but they didn't listen.
I know at least 3 more cases when Teresa and Andre were trying to cut the corners cancelling the contracts of the tenants under ridiculous reasoning.
As for the apartment, the bed is too small for 2 adults. It's the cheapest bed I've slept on. It's 110cm width and ~185cm length. The couch is so small and uncomfortable that you can't even watch the tv while sitting on that thing. This is a corner flat and the neighboring building is pretty close. Some guys are listening unbearable techno music there literally every day (at least not at night).
A few good things like location and space mean nothing comparing to the flaws and personal experience.

- you will have to buy dishwasher & laundry capsules/powder
- host will need 100 EUR deposit from you (against the Flatio rules), but you will get it back

Communication with host is good, everything in timely manner. Location is very convenient, everything you need is quite close. The only minor issue is that apartments has relatively low natural lightning since it's a first floor in encircled courtyard (from the other side, it's never hot)

Great apartment in a quiet building and neighborhood. The views are lovely and the apartment is so convenient to walk everywhere. Working with Andre and his team has been wonderful. They solved any problem I had and offered a very high level of service, even driving me to the airport. I highly recommend this stay:)

Lovely location, very central, clean and modern apartment with all the necessary equipments. It was a big plus that the building and the area is quite quiet and you can hear the birds chirping in the morning. Excellent. Also, great cooperation with the owner, always available when need be.
